Great company to help plan your trip. Everything was well planned and they communicated with the lodge to check our dietary requirements were taken care of. Sam was such an excellent guide that I have taken 2 trips with KO.
Highly recommended to help you see the beautiful country of Uganda

Sam was a great tour guide, he was very knowledgeable about the country and it’s past. Sam did a great job answering all of our questions and helping us understand what Uganda is all about!

I had the pleasure of having Kwezi Outdoors plan my entire stay in Uganda. From start to finish they were able to incorporate the packed schedule of things I wanted to do! From East to West and across the country, their efficiency and adaptability was everything a traveller needs in Uganda.

I highly recommend guide Sam Wako. His incredible knowledge both of the flora and fauna and of the roads, towns, and cities, and culture was invaluable. On the safari, he knew exactly which animals were around. He is a veritable encyclopedia of information about each animal and I gained so much insight from him. In the urban and rural areas, he was an invaluable guide. He knows all the shortcuts in Kampala (very important due to heavy traffic), and was able to get me to all my appointments ahead of schedule. In the rural areas, he knows all the villages, towns, and activities.

He graciously adapted to changes I made in my itinerary on a daily basis (I’m easily distracted!), and found ways to still keep us on track. Sam’s knowledge of the different cultures in Uganda’s regions helped me learn so much about Uganda and truly appreciate the uniqueness of each kingdom. His professionalism and wealth of experience being a guide throughout Uganda was an invaluable resource that made all the difference and my trip a success. Thank you!

Managed to have flights and tours taken care of and got some upgrades in the process as well. The wife and I are truly grateful. No hiccups experienced which is vital when trying to getaway from the busy world.

Our Safari Locations

Uganda has 10 amazingly diverse national parks. Some like the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are well-known for their gentle residents - the mountain gorillas. From the misty tropical forest there a number of savanna parks where you get to tick off Africa's Big 5 - and in Uganda case plus the 13 species of primates and over 1070 bird species.

From the savannah parks to the mountainous Rwenzori Mountains National Park, with its tropical glaciers, there is a lot waiting just for you. So, whether to choose to visit view wildlife, trek across glaciers, fish in the Nile, walk with zebras, and top it with golf - you will not be disappointed.

And more so, Uganda is not a mass-tourism destination. So your environmental footprint remains small, and your experience private and personal.

What you need for your Uganda safari

Valid Passport: Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date from Uganda.

The Passport must have a clean and full visa page for endorsement.

Visa: Get a Uganda visa online from visas.immigration.go.ug The fee is $50 for a 90 day single entry visa. Apply early online prior to your trip.

Vaccinations: Yellow Fever Certificate: Ensure you have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. This is required for entry into Uganda. If you have a valid reason not to take a vaccination, then you must get a medical waiver from a qualified medical facility.

Medications: Keep medicines in their original, labeled containers. Ensure that they are clearly labeled with your full name, health care provider’s name, generic and brand name, and exact dosage. Bring copies of all written prescriptions, including the generic names for medicines.

Travel Insurance: We strongly recommended to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellation, and personal belongings. Ensure that your insurance policy includes coverage for activities you plan to undertake, such as extreme sport (whitewater rafting, bungee etc) or mountain climbing.

Currency: We use the Ugandan shilling (UGX). However, the USD, Euro, and the UK pound are some of the world currencies freely converted at foreign exchanges in the urban centre. It’s advisable to carry some cash with you or have access to ATMs (USD) for cash withdrawals – mostly in Kampala. VISA card is the most widely accepted.

Climate and Packing: Consider the climate and weather conditions during your visit. Uganda experiences a tropical climate, so pack lightweight, breathable clothing, along with comfortable.

Tracking Permit: If you are gorilla or chimpanzee trekking, you must have secured your permit. US$700 for a gorilla permit; while $200 for a chimpanzeee permit.
