What's Included

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison, Track Rhinos

Transfer from Kampala by road to Murchison Falls National Park in northwestern Uganda. Our first stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you track the southern white rhinos. This sanctuary is the only place you will find rhinos in Uganda. It was established to breed and restore rhino in Uganda’s protected areas. Rhinos are on Africa’s Big 5 list – you have started your adventure well.

Continue to the national park arriving in mid-afternoon. Check into your accommodation facility and if time allows, proceed for a short evening game drive. The evening light can be great for photos. If you are a lucky one, you may even spot the elusive leopard out for the evening hunt. Other wildlife to look out for is lions, giraffes, elephants and the world’s fastest monkey, the patas monkey.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive, Afternoon Cruise on the Nile

Set out early for your game drive as the wildlife comes out to for the morning meal. Most animals will retreat to the shade as the day gets warmer. Murchison Falls National Park is rich in wildlife and you will get to see elephant, lions, buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, the Uganda Kob and a variety of birds. Look out for the lions out for the morning hunt.

After lunch at your accommodation take the afternoon boat cruise to the Murchison Falls. Look out for the giant Nile crocodiles, pods of hippos, elephants, giraffes and plenty of birds as you sail along. Finally, you get to the highlight of the game cruise- Murchison Falls. Here the mighty Nile River crushes down into the western rift valley through a 6-7 metre (19-23ft) gap making this probably the most powerful waterfalls in the world. It is an amazing sight to behold.

Day 3: Spiritual Renewal in the Wilderness

Take a day of rest to simply immerse yourself in the creation around you. Enjoy the birds, the wildlife, the sun, wind – and all flora and fauna. Is it Sabbath? Sunday? Whatever your holy day – retreat from the hustle and cares of the world to just enjoy your day. Activities like walking safaris or visits to nearby communities (if any), can be organised.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala

We hope you fully refreshed for your journey back to Kampala and onwards. After an early breakfast, drive out of the park. You will seek out wildlife and birds as you drive through the park. Take a diversion and go visit the top of Murchison Falls on the Nile. Travel on to your next destination.
