Uganda is an all year fishing destination. It is home to the Nile River. The world’s longest river begins its journey from Lake Victoria in Uganda. This is the world’s second largest freshwater lake. And between these two, you will be fishing on your Uganda safari.

Our fishing safari is an excellent adventure if you are seeking to recharge your mind, spirit and creativity. You get to enjoy your fishing on your Uganda safari. Some of the fish species to look out for are the legendary Nile perch, tilapia, catfish, tigerfish, and electric catfish. Nile perch catches can range from a few kilograms to over 100kg (220lbs plus). In 2009, Tim Smith, an art teacher, landed a 249lb nile perch in the Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. .

On this 7-day fishing safari, you will get to fish in Lake Victoria, and the Nile River. Some of the main species we shall seek out are the Nile perch, tilapia, catfish and tigerfish. You will also track rhinos, and seek out the other members of Africa's Big 5 - lions, elephants, leopards and the fierce buffalo.
Enjoy a 9 Day fishing safari with your friends and family. Imagine fishing in the Nile River as elephants drink from the river. And spend days fishing as you enjoy the wildlife in remote parks. Then going out for a trek with a family of gorillas. That is what this fishing safari to Uganda is all about.
This is the ultimate fishing and wildlife safari. Go on an 11 Day adventure fishing in the world's largest tropical lake, Victoria; and the Nile River. Walk with rhinos, seek out Africa's Big 5, track chimps, and trek with a wild family of mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Where we go fishing
Lake Victoria
Experience Africa’s largest lake while trolling for the iconic Nile Perch. Sport fishing in Lake Victoria, the largest tropical lake in the world, offers anglers exciting fishing adventures.
When: All year round except the full moon period, when fish seem to be less active, and the April / May rainy season.
Boats: Sea-going, single-hulled, twin-engined speedboats that cater for up to four fishermen.
Equipment on board: The vessel is equipped with an overhead sun canopy, rain suits, a mobile phone, life jackets, a basic first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, and a cool box for refreshing beverages. All basic equipment and lures for trolling are supplied. However, anglers are free to bring their own if they prefer.
Guides: Our skippers are experienced Ugandans knowledgeable about the lake and its fish. The guides communicate in English.
Fishing trips: Half day or full day trips are available.
The Nile - Murchison Falls
Fishing in the Nile River, against the backdrop of the thundering waterfalls should be on your bucket list. You will be fishing in the Nile in the Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest conservation area.
These are fully inclusive trips with private transport with a driver in 4×4 vehicle. Alternatively scheduled flights or charter flights are available. Accommodation to suit all budgets is available.
When: Generally December – March and June – October are favoured, although year round fishing opportunities abound.
Equipment: All basic fishing equipment provided, including rods, line and lures. Lost or damaged equipment will be paid for by the angler. It is recommended that experienced anglers bring their own equipment.
Guides: Our skippers are experienced Ugandans knowledgeable about the river and the best spots. The guides communicate in English.
Specialist guides are available for an extra fee for large groups and highly focused angling clients.
Optional excursions
Gorilla trekking, wildlife game drives, river cruises, chimpanzee trekking, and other excursions can be arranged as add-ons to your fishing adventure.
What is included in your fishing safari
Our multi-day fishing safaris are all inclusive. We take away the stress of planning from you so you can concentrate on enjoying your fishing adventure. Here is what we do for you:
- Fishing license (based on one rod per person per day). Extra permits can be purchased as required.
- Rods, reels & tackle (Basic equipment is provided – rods, lines, lures). We strongly recommend that you bring your own equipment (especially so for experienced anglers).
- Live Bait (No live bait arranged- it’s part of day’s activity).
- Lures.
- Experienced skipper/guide for the fishing boat.
- Experienced English-speaking guides – for the safari drives.
- A private well-maintained safari vehicle.
- Transportation and fuel while on safari in Uganda.
- Boat and fuel.
- National Park entry fees.
- Gorilla tracking permit (where applicable depending on itinerary).
- Chimpanzee tracking permit (where applicable depending on itinerary).
- Rhino tracking permit (where applicable depending on itinerary).
- Game Drive.
- Accommodation while on fishing safari.
- All meals on safari – Lunch (packed for fishing days).
- Non alcoholic beverages.
