The Kutu gorilla family in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is celebrating the birth of a new baby gorilla. The baby gorilla was born on 15th July 2022 to Murema (gorilla mother), and the silverback Ndugu, who heads this family.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority, which is in charge of national parks and conservation reserves, has confirmed the birth of the baby gorilla. Visitor trekking in Bwindi will find the Kutu gorilla family of 21 (including the new baby) in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Murema, the baby gorilla’s mother, is 18 years old. This is her second birth. Her first baby gorilla, Dunia, which means “world” in Swahili, is now 5 years old.
